Admissions Basics Overview (2 Hour Workshop)

This workshop presents the the tools and techniques necessary to determine if an applicant has met the program admission requirements. Using instructor demonstrations and hands-on activities, learners will have the opportunity to locate and view applicant information received into the Admissions office including, applications, transcripts recommendation letters, GPA, test scores.

Security Access

The Office of Admissions requires attendance in the Admissions Basics workshop prior to granting security access to view Admissions documents in AppXtender for the Web.

Pre-requisite

There is no prerequisite for this workshop.

Target Audience

Grad and Program Coordinators and any EMU faculty or staff who need to locate and view admissions applicant information.

Topics Covered

  • Applicant Report - View and print a list of applicants who have applied to a program, including an applicant's checklist of the program requirements (received and outstanding), contact information, admission decisions, admit/decision grade point averages (GPA), and standardized test scores
  • Imaged Documents - View and print imaged documents, sent to the Office of Admissions on behalf of the applicant (e.g., applications, transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statements, etc.)
  • RecForm - Complete a Graduate Recommendation Form (RecForm)
