SOAGPAT - Viewing Grade Point Averages

 

Use the Applicant GPA Types form (SOAGPAT) to view a summary of a student/applicant's high school and college GPA scores.

Field Description
GPA Type Displays the GPA type.
GPA Displays the GPA.
+/- Used This field is not being utilized by EMU.
School Displays high school or college code for specific school GPA.
Appl Displays application number that the GPA was used for. Used for DECN GPA and CLAC GPA.
Term Displays the corresponding term code for the application number. Used for DECN GPA and CALC GPA.
Activity Date Displays date that GPA type was recorded.

 

Follow these directions to view information in SOAGPAT:

  • From the Banner Main menu, type the form name in the Go To... box press the [Enter] key on the keyboard.

GPA Types for Undergraduate Applicants:

GPA Types Description - All applicants with a completed application will have a DECN GPA (except for guests, ConAPs, and continuing education).
HSGPA4 6th semester high school GPA.
HSGPA5 7th semester high school GPA.
HSGPA6 6th semester high school GPA.
HSGPA7 7th semester high school GPA.
HSGPA8 8th semester high school GPA.
CUM1 From individual school attended as part of the first bachelor's degree. It is used to calculate the CALC GPA.
CALC Cumulative GPA for all undergraduate coursework at all colleges attended.
DECN Used in the admission decision process. Application with a decision must have a DECN GPA.
SELF Self-reported GPA (not used for admission decision purposes).
TRMSTD FOR USE BY RECORDS OFFICE ONLY. Term GPA used to calculate academic standing for currently enrolled students. This GPA will include all courses taken at their current student level (UG or GR) since the last time a degree was posted for this student. This GPA will only exist for the most recently edned term and will not reflect any grade correction that may subsequently occur.
XCALC The CALC GPA converted from ISIS. This is the last calculated GPA used for an application in ISIS and could be from a UG or GR application.
XDECN The FTIAC decision GPA converted from ISIS.

 

GPA Types for Graduate Applicants:

All applicants with a completed application will have a CALC GPA, a DECN GPA, and at least one CUM1 GPA (except for guests, MIGs, and continuing education).

GPA Types Description
CALC

Overall, cumulative UG GPA for Graduate and Post Bachelor Undergraduate applications. No CALC is recorded until the official undergraduate degree-posted transcript is received (i.e. conditional seniors won't have a CALC GPA until their degree-posted arrives).

Note: this GPA type is used differently for UG students.

DECN  GPA used for the admission decision. All applications with a decision must have a DECN GPA.
CUM1 GPA for a school attended as part of the first bachelor's degree by an applicant, it is the GPA for that individual school and is used to calculate the CALC GPA.
CUM2 GPA for school attended after the first bachelor's degree was granted (including any additional coursework without a postgraduate degree or second bachelor degree). 
HGPA

Last Half GPA - this calculation is the GPA for the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework (calculated using complete semesters, so it might represent slightly more than 60 hours). This GPA may represent coursework taken at more than one school.

Note: Only used if applicant's CALC GPA is too low for Grad admission - 2.5 and below.

SBGPA GPA form SBAC degree. 
MST1 GPA for first master's degree. 
MST2 GPA for additional master's degrees (after the first one). 
SPEC GPA for Specialist's degrees (after the first one). 
DOCT GPA record for doctoral degree (includes PhD, MD, JD, PsyD, EdD, etc.).

  • When you are finished, click the Exit button on the toolbar to return to the Banner Main menu.
